Top 5 coffee shops in the Sacramento area
Are you a coffee connoisseur? Well, there are five coffee shops in the Elk Grove and Sacramento area that you should try out.
Let’s start with the honorable mention, Starbucks. Since the weather is warming up, cold drinks are the way to go.
From Starbucks, the strawberry acai refresher will definitely cool you down. With its strawberry, passion fruit, acai flavors and ice, you’ll surely be refreshed.
As for food options, you may hear a lot about desserts, but just know that their banana bread will have your heart. With its homemade nutty feel and its doughy consistency, it’ll have you writing home to mama.
Now if you’re on the go, Onit Coffee is the place to be. It’s a coffee truck and yes, you read that correctly, a coffee truck. Onit is located at 9250 Big Horn Blvd.
The best drinks on their menu are the caramel macchiatos, specifically their layered caramel macchiato. You have espresso, milk, caramel flavor and caramel drizzle layered together in an iced drink.
A suggestion that makes the drink taste better is to replace your milk with their ice cream mix to make your drink sweeter. The bitter taste of espresso will be a little more disguised all thanks to the ice cream mix.
Onit Coffee also has boba tea, milkshakes, smoothies, you name it. Don’t be worried about time because you can order online and well, they’re “Onit!”
In downtown Sacramento, there are several locations that house Temple Coffee Roasters along with one located at 2600 Fair Oaks Blvd.
At Temple Coffee Roasters, the cold brew is where it’s at. It’s rich and there’s nothing more to say. Get your hands on one and you’ll find out.
For all the vegans reading this, Temple has your back like a chiropractor. Similar to other coffee shops, they offer plant-based milk for their drinks and they offer vegan cake and muffins.
Peet’s Coffee & Tea is a great choice for those who enjoy the taste of coffee over the sugariness of Starbucks.
Their iced cappuccinos are amazing. Simple, but ‘have it your way’ like Burger King. You can keep your dark roasted coffee how it is or customize it to your liking with different syrups, sweeteners and toppings.
Lastly, Rescate Coffee will have your mouth watering with all their different food options. From croissants and bagels to cookies and scones, there’s so much to choose from.
The variety of coffee will get you though. A snickerdoodle latte? C’mon now, where have you seen that? Rescate’s even has Vietnamese coffee so give it a chance.
Stop by Rescate’s Coffee at 2475 Elk Grove Blvd.
Well coffeeholics, you have a few things to check off your to-do list. Happy hunting!
