Damien Gay is a 17-year-old Staff Writer for The Connection and he is a digital media major. He joined The Connection in order to help foster his photography, but also as a way to learn some journalism and end up getting more involved with his school. The Connection has been an outlet for him to be able to share his story through his lens and a way to share his talents with the rest of the school. Damien’s goals within The Connection are to help run the media and expand the use of photos, videos and audio as platforms to share news rather than as a supplement to the written stories. Overall, he wants The Connection’s media to shine and evolve into something that many students here watch and consume daily. Outside of the Connection, he is passionate mainly about photography, video games and cars. He plays most video games and loves to play with his friends. He loves to do photography of local sports and local car events. He has loved sports and games for as long as he can remember, but photography has been a recent passion he discovered and hasn’t stopped loving ever since he first used a professional camera.
