The volleyball team dominated in their match against Santa Rosa College on Oct. 18, ending the game with a 3-0 win.
Throughout the game the team kept their energy up even when they missed hits or scores, having a tough fight in the first set winning 25-22.
“Our team chemistry was there, we all worked really well together,” freshman defensive specialist Maddy Jones said.
The team previously lost to the Bear Cubs 1-3 during their last meeting on Sept. 18. During the game the team kept a fast pace and played heavy defense.
“We changed up our defense and it’s the first time we’ve really done that,” head coach Kari Nahlen said. “We had people we were going after on the other side of the net.”
Nahlen said during the game there was impressive leadership from sophomore outside hitter Jordan Kwalwasser, the team captain who is coming off of an injury.
“She really led the team in the front row and in the back row,” Nahlen said.
Throughout the game the score was constantly neck in neck. In the final moments of the game, the Hawks clinched the match after winning the third set 25-21 and made the final score 3-0.
